Thanks for your interest in becoming a part of the Simply Virtual team.

We are always looking for highly talented, innovative thinkers to shape the future of our company. Read this page carefully as it contains information to help you determine if a work at home position with Simply Virtual is right for you. Ideal candidates meet the following requirements:

Availability & Client Focus

Business happens “during the day”. You should be available to respond to e-mails, answer phone calls, attend telephone and / or web meetings & conferences and complete work tasks & projects during our normal business hours, 8 am to 5 pm U.S. Eastern Time. We do NOT offer evening positions and expect that you are accessible and dedicated to serving Simply Virtual’s client companies during the regular work day.

Education, Skills and Career Experience

Success requires “lifelong learning”. You have earned a two-, four- year or better degree at an accredited college or university. You have at least five (5) years experience as an administrative or executive assistant or an office manager – preferably having supported corporate executives, directors or managers and / or small business owners.

You value education and learning and are committed to a shared goal of continually improving your skill set.

Communication is the “key” to strong virtual relationships. All roles within Simply Virtual require extensive interaction with our clients, vendors and other team members.  You are an ideal fit if you enjoy phone work, have strong written & oral communication skills and are able to work productively in a fast-paced work environment.  More specifically, you type at least 55 words per minute and are able to produce accurate detailed reports and effectively convey your thoughts in writing.

Shift happens. Every Simply Virtual assistant is expected to bring innovation and creativity to the solutions we offer our client companies. Those who excel within our Virtual Assistant and Specialists roles may be described as internet savvy multi-taskers who can see the big picture, but relish in “details”. You should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and have some experience with social media (Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) — in a business setting. PowerPoint and any graphic design (i.e. Adobe InDesign, Pagemaker or Photoshop, etc.) proficiencies are ALWAYS a plus!

Working from Home

Working from home is NOT for everyone.  Work at home positions require an ability to structure and manage your time effectively and make decisions independently. In essence, you are accountable for your own success.

Many roles within Simply Virtual are 1099 contract. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for calculating and paying your income taxes and other regular business expenses, some of which are tax-deductible.  Please consult your tax advisor for more information.

As an Independent Contractor, your home office is equipped with the following:

  • high-speed broadband internet connection
  • separate / dedicated telephone line (Land based please. NO mobile phones.)
  • fax machine, LASER printer and high-capacity document shredder
  • webcam with headset or microphone

You should also have Windows Vista® or Windows 7®, MAC OS 9.5 or greater and Microsoft Office Professional 2007 or higher installed on your MAC or PC.

Benefits

Simply Virtual does not offer vacation or holiday pay, healthcare or dental benefits to its contractors.  What we DO offer is a fun, team oriented virtual environment and tons of resources and support to help you grow professionally while you take advantage of the work / life balance available in a work at home position.
