Industry Production Standards
Simply Virtual uses Industry Production Standards (IPS) guidelines, published by the Association of Business Support Services International (ABSSI) and Executive Suite Association, as a factor in calculating charges for our services.
What is IPS?
IPS is a generally accepted method of computing time for various administrative tasks. It ensures that you’re not over charged for your work. IPS is based on average time required to perform specific duties by a virtual assistant with average proficiency – the IPS Model Operator or in our case, virtual assistant (see chart) – and calculated uniformly in 6-minute increments.

How does it work?
Upon receipt, we assign your project a degree of difficulty based on the readability, format, grammar/sentence structure, organization and technical content of the source material you provide. This rating is compared to IPS production charts to identify the standard time it would take the “model” virtual assistant to complete your work.
IPS saves you money
Believe it or not, we want to help you save money. Industry Production Standards protect you against over-billing if your work is performed by a less efficient “operator”. With IPS, you pay only for the standard time it would take to complete your work. IPS is a fair and consistent practice that also keeps us from being penalized for above average production. It’s a win-win situation!
